Modesto Rotary Club – 2005 Distinguished Public Service Award
This was a big honor for me. This is the video they showed at the event where I received this great award. The video is classic – it has some of my earliest work on television… and a little fun at the end.
On the Front Line: Gangs, Guns & Violence (30 mins)
This is one of my proudest accomplishments. During the peak of street gang violence in Stanislaus County, I spent two months with the Sheriff’s Department Gang Unit documenting what they faced on a daily basis. I edited together this video and submitted it to KVIE in Sacramento. It was nominated for an Emmy at the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences that year.
A Tribute to Betty (12 mins)
This is a video I produced for the retirement dinner of Betty Bickner. She worked at the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department for her entire career and is one of the most charming, professional and loyal employees I’ve ever seen. This is a tribute to her and her career. (Edited on Apple MacPro using FinalCut Studio)
Reign of Terror
During a spree of home invasion robberies near the town of Turlock, residents were being pistol whipped, attacked and robbed. When the sheriff’s department finally caught the assailants in the act, there was a car chase and shootout with the suspects. The deputies that almost lost their lives are featured in this mini-documentary I videotaped and produced.
